With the four arms, the dance posture on the world, this puts me in mind of Shiva, in his form as the Lord of the Cosmic Dance. In that form, he's preparing to dance the weary world to destruction and rebirth. Here, I think the music box was rewound, and now it begins again with youth, beauty, hope, everything in tune.
It sort of reminds me of a music-box-statue I have of the Virgin Mary. I don't know why, but it does, and that makes me like it all the more--even though the painting more reminds me of the origin story of life via Pagan mythos (The Great Mother danced the world into existence, creating mountains and lands from her movements...so on and so on).
Anyway, it's lovely, beautifully shaded and honestly no singular component keeps my attention too long, allowing me to keep my eyes moving and take in as much as I possibly can. I think the background is my favorite part, that the music box looks like a ship with a flat earth inside (sort of making it seem like humans are in fact delusional and unaware of the greater beings around [or on top of us]), and the colors in general are lovely. Great piece, and congrats on the DD.
